Happy Friday!!

I have a new Art Journal page to share with you today, and a couple of things to tell you about!

First the announcements: ;)

Today on the Unity Blog there is a Linky party going on! So if you have a project done with either Unity or {ippity} stamps, be sure to link it up so we can all see them! Here is the Unity Link!
Also be sure to check out the Unity Garage Sale going on this weekend! There are some great kits and past Kits of the Month, plus some favorite {ippity} sets as well. And here is the Link to that! :D
And while you are there make sure that you check out the New {ippity} Releases from last week! It is one of my favorites! That little chef is just the cutest out there, and the Adoption set is so perfect for cards, scrapbook pages and home decor.
Remember to just click on my picture if you don't already have an {ippity} chick and you will be able to purchase both Unity and {ippity} at the same time. And the shipping is just 5$ this weekend during the sale!
When I am notified of your purchase (when you choose me as your "chick") I will send you a sample pack of 6x6 designer paper, and another little something extra as a Thank you!

Okay, now I would like to share with you the Art Journal page that I did for the "Dare" that Tracy Weinzapfel issued as our June challenge on her Blog and Facebook page Here.
She has an Art class on U-Stream every Monday night at 6pm (pacific)....."Do Something Creative Everyday". We would love it if you stopped by and joined in with us!

So enough chatter! Here is my page for the challenge.....

She gave us this quote as a "Dare". "Let go of whatever holds you back and no longer serves you,...Because you only get one shot in Life!"- Unknown-
I felt the words "trust" and "believe" appropriate for this quote, because you need both of those to be able to do what the quote asks of you.
The stamps are from Unity and {ippity}. I used Memento ink,and a white inkessentials pen,as well as a copic multi liner. The sentiment I did in Word and then cut it out, used some vintage photo distress ink and a dark almost an eggplant in color copic pen to do the edges.(RV99)
The flowers are from Prima and the Butterfly charms from Making Memories. I did use a distress marker on the butterflies to age them just a bit more.
The flower stamp at the bottom here are from the New {ippity} release! Aren't they cute!? I colored them in using Distress Markers from Tim Holtz. The paper I used is from The Paper Company. It is a hand made, heavy Kraft card stock with a white thread that runs thru it. Love the paper!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! It really does mean so much to me that you do,and all of the kind, sweet comments that you leave! I read them over and over again!! :D

Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,

Mary

Welcome to the June {ippity} Release Hop!!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to our June Release Hop and Party!!
I am your first stop along the way, so you should have come to me from the Unity Blog.

We are so glad that you are joining us! There will be lots of beautiful inspiration from our {ippity} chicks, and games and prizes in the Split Coast Unity Forum!
And of course there is a Sale as well!! :D
You can find out all the details on the sale on the Unity Blog.

We are Releasing 3 New Kits and 1 background stamp!
I wanted to do something a little different for you tonight. And I was thinking about all of the fun BBQ's and Summer parties that we will all be going to and bringing something to share with everyone. So,... What I did was make a fun Recipe card to attach to your dish that you would be able to write the recipe onto the back to share either with the Hostess or the other party goer's!

This tag is using one of the New Releases called "What's Cooking?"! Isn't this Chef ADORABLE!
Love him! He does come with 3 different sentiments, one of which I used on the back of the tag. On the front Here you see "My Kitchen to Yours" an itty bitty from our last release!

I used pure luxury card stock from GinaK for my images, did some coloring with copics and some paper piecing. The background and the tones of the papers is a cream color and I wanted the hat and the jacket to be white,so I layered with white card stock. The dp is from October Afternoon.
The fun brads are from the eyelet factory (mushrooms) and Kitchen classics cook bookin.
On the backside of the tag I used a Journal box from Unity, and the "what''s cooking" sentiment from the kit. The secret recipe sticker is from making memories.

I hope that you like it,and that maybe this is something that you will try. I thought that if your recipe is longer you could always attach a folded recipe card to the back for more space.

Rona is your next stop on the Hop and I know that she has some Beautiful things to share with you!
Remember that if you have any questions about the project that I have shown you, or about any of our New Releases or other {ippity} sets please don't hesitate to contact me! maryscreativejourney@gmail.com ! I would love to be your {ippity} chick if you need one!

Thank you for stopping by!
Have fun!

It is Unity's Friends with Flair!

Hi Everyone!

Well as a lot of you know already on Fridays you can link up your Unity projects to their Blog using the Mr. Linky tool! It is so fun to see what everyone is creating with the stamps!

So I am linking up another Art Journal page! (surprise, surprise right! lol )
This one I did using the May kit of the month.
I used copics and a glitter pen on the dresses and then cut them out and popped them up using foam dimensionals. The Journal Block is also from Unity. There is a better picture below of it. The background was done using one of my new favorite spray inks "dylusions", I used grape crush and lemon zest.

I hand wrote the sentiment with charcoal pencil, outlined in white pencil,I think I also used a black gel pen as well. I think Unity actually has this sentiment in a stamp in one of their kits, but I don't remember which one. I just wanted to try my hand writing out! haha...trying to get brave enough to use a calligraphy pen and india ink! ;)

Well I hope you like it. Maybe if I do enough of these I will find one that I want to repeat on a canvas!

Would love to know your opinion! Any comments are so treasured!
Thank you for stopping by today.
Have a great weekend!

Blessings and Hugs,
Mary

I am Back! :D

Hello Everyone!
So as promised here is another Art Journal Page!
I hope you are not sick of them, because I have a few more to share! ;)

Well I maybe sorry I showed this one to you all, but  Tracy Weinzapfel Had asked us to do something, or work with colors outside of our comfort zone. And black is out of my comfort zone when it comes to paint or dyes!
I think I mentioned in my last post that I had purchased some new mists from Dylusions, and Studio Calico Mr Huey's. I love them! I used the black marble, crushed grape and lemon zest from dylusions for my background, then laid down a mask from Tattered Angels and sprayed the calico white from Mr. Huey. The stamp over the top is from Unity called Take Note and it simply says "Notes", there are roses in the corner on the bottom left of the stamp, but I wanted to use these flowers from Prima.( the roses are beautiful though!) I then drew in a box and added some extra flourishes curls with a memento marker and then lined with a white pencil.

The edges I went around with some vintage photo distress ink, after I used a distressing tool on the edges of the paper.
My thought for this page was that I needed some pages that I could write my thoughts on,and on this particular day using these colors of ink seemed appropriate for some reason. So the challenge of using colors outside of my comfort zone was a good one! ;)
It is a dark page, but as I was working on it the lemon yellow color in the corner felt like the sun trying to come out on a cloudy day, pushing back the dark and the gray clouds to find warmth and light.  Of course I needed some sparkle on the page as well, so I used the crystal flourishes from Zva.

Well I hope you like it. Any feed back on this one would be appreciated! ;D
The page I will share tomorrow is MUCH brighter! And I used the Unity May Kit of the Month!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Hugs,
Mary

I have been busy!!

Hi Everyone!

Well I know it has been a while since my last post, but I have been busy! I have been creating art journal pages ( I think I am addicted! lol) and some cards. I am trying to get caught on a past projects not completed because of moving my studio from one room the next! WOW! what a deal!! But so worth it!! :D

Today I am going to share one of my pages, and then I will be back with another tomorrow!
We are also getting close to another {ippity} release! And I think you are really going to like it! Totally different! And we will even have a set for Adoptions! So glad about that!!

Here is my page done with the {ippity} set "Angie Girl: dream with your Heart",it is  done by Unity Artista Angie Bloom.

I used copics to color in the image, and vintage photo distress ink for the sentiment. The Heart journal is from Unity Stamp Co. and stamped in black archival ink. I used some New products for the background! Well new to me anyway! lol It was done with dylusions ink spray and Mister Huey's color mists. Both of which i found at Ellen Hutson's.
These were so much fun to play with! I will give you a hint about my next 2 journal pages.....I used them on those as well! hehe  Mister Huey's makes a white opaque spray that I will show you on the page tomorrow, and that was so fun as well! The tags are from Tim Holtz, and the flower was done with Spellbinders Anemone Flower Topper.
I hope that you like it! Any feedback would be most appreciated since I am so new to art journaling. I mean, I have done some pages in the past but this feels different somehow! I am attending Tracy Weinzapfel's art journaling class on Monday nights on U-stream, and I just find it so inspiring and helpful. Plus we all have a great time chatting with each other! Come join us! There is always room for one more!! :D

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a great rest of your Monday,

Hugs,

Mary
