Feature Wednesday! Stitches of Buttons!

Hi Everyone!

Today I am back for {ippity's} "Feature Wednesday". This week we are sharing projects that are done with our background stamp called "Stitches of Buttons"! This is such an adorable back ground stamp,I think you are really going to find many uses for it!

I wanted to do something different this time. So I decided that I wanted to use the stamp on fabric and then cut it out into a flower and use it on something!....the problem was use it on what!? LOL
Well....this is what I decided to do!
Can you tell what it is??
I stamped onto fabric with stazon ink,and then colored in the buttons with copic markers. I also went around the edges of the flower with copics to highlight the petals a little better. I used steam a seam in between the layers of fabric to give some body to it,and on  the leaves I used it to put a backing on them so that the stitching doesn't show on the backside.

The dies are from Tim Holtz (sizzix). Well if you couldn't tell in the earlier photo it is a headband! ;) The headband is from creative imaginations. They come white, and I used dylusions ink spray to color the fabric.

Well, I am going to try to keep this short today. So if you have any questions about my project just leave me a comment or send me an e-mail to maryscreativejourney@gmail.com. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I really appreciate it, more than you know! :)
If you are interested in this stamp and need help ordering just drop me a line. I will be more than happy to help you out!

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Mary

P.S I have also linked this project to Stephanie Lynn's " Under the Table and Dreaming" Sunday Showcase! This is such a fun blog for all things creative and stylish!

Something to Share!

Hi Everyone!

I am here today to share a Canvas that I FINALLY (hehe) got done!
This started from the Creative Dare over on Tracy Weinzapfel's blog.
The dare was to use your "word" for the year and your favorite colors. The color part was pretty easy,my favorites are red, yellow and blue. The word part that was another story!
I was having trouble with that part of it as there are so many things right now that I feel I need to work on. WELL, my wonderful husband!.....I went into my studio space one morning and there sitting on top of my copics is this little, adorable piece!
How Perfect! Well how could I have chosen any other word! Bee-lieve! Which is something I need to do more of in myself. Which of course he knows! ;)

So here is my canvas..
I used my 3 favorite colors, although the red is just peaking out from under the blue. I used studio acrylic paints (by Claudine Helmuth). I also tried my hand at using bubble wrap (thank you Angie Reece for reminding us of this technique!), I loved the extra texture that it gave to the canvas.
The frames are from Maya Roads,I stamped the sentiment on GinaK pure Luxury, attached the frames with glue (used the brads were I could put the wood frame is wide on the back),then I applied glossy accents to them to make it look like glass.
The heart I colored with copics and blended the colors together using I technique I learned in the certification class.(still practicing!) There is clear crackle accents from ranger on top of the heart. I loved the results of that!
So now to let you know which wonderful stamp sets that I used! ;)
The Heart image and sentiment is from {ippity}, ( are you surprised!!hah) The set is called "Let your Heart Take Flight". Love this set, it comes with 2 other sentiments.
The Flourishes are from Unity by Donna Downey, and the word Believe is from a stamp set from Inkadinkado.

Thank you for hanging in today for such a long post!
And I guess I better get back to work since my Husband hind another little surprise for me that I found sitting on my window ledge!
I guess he is watching me! ;D

Have a great day!

Mary

Hi Everyone! "What's Cookin?"

Happy Wednesday! And Welcome to a New {ippity} Focus Feature!

Each Wednesday on the {ippity} Blog we will be focusing on a different set in the {ippity} line and showcasing all of the creative ways that you can use our beautiful stamps!
This week we are focusing on a fun set called "What's Cooking?". It is an adorable set with a cute little chef named Oliver and 3 sentiments.

In my example here I used Oliver and put him onto shrink plastic and made him into a cute little charm that I attached to a gift card using another {ippity} stamp called "My Kitchen". On the inside of the tag I used another sentiment from What's Cooking? which says "Made with Love".

The design paper is from October Afternoon, card stock is GinaK,and spellbinder labels 12. For the card I cut the large tag with the die just a little higher on the top so that it would not cut the fold for a card that would open at the top.
For the Charm:
I used Black Stazon ink to shrink plastic, colored with copic markers and then punched a hole in the top with a hole punch. I applied a small amount of powder (the one I used is from Avon so it smells great! ;) to both sides so that when it starts to melt the plastic won't stick together as much, and I think it speeds up the process of getting a flat image.
Oliver actually measures 2" wide by 3-1/2" tall. The charm measures about 1-1/2" tall after it has shrunk. I did apply glossy accents to the top to give it a shinny appearance.

I hope you give it a try! I have had so much fun with this set! I just think our little Chef is the cutest!
If you don't have him yet in your stash I would recommend fixing that! Lol!

If you still need an {ippity} Chick I would love to help you!
Thank you so much for stopping by,and enjoy all the other inspiration that our other Chicks have for you! Everyone is so excited to share with you!

Until Next time!
Hugs,
Mary
